January Newsletter

Welcome Back and Happy New Year!

Now that we've rang in the new year, the recital will be here before you know it.

Costume deposits are now past due. Please make the payment as soon as possible. We would not want anyone to be left without a costume for the show.

We still have a few solo spots available if you are interested. Please see Kim right now and reserve your spot. Space is limited and the deposit is due. You would also need to pick out a costume this week.

All solo classes will begin on January 20th. Please make sure you know your day and time. Also, see Mary if you haven't done so yet about your music. All songs need to be approved before the 13th so that your teachers can come prepared for your first class.

This is a reminder to keep on top of making up classes. Anyone who has not made up all of their classes for the first half of the year has till January 20th to make up last year's missed classes. Only students with perfect attendance will receive a trophy at the recital.

We are now ready to start recording CDs. For all of our new students, you can purchase a CD with all of your dance songs on it so that you can practice for the show. The cost of each CD is $6.00 and you can purchase 1 per family. This price includes a finale cd in April also when we start our finale practice. All of the CDs come in a slim case with a label stating your child's name and the songs listed. (The finale CDs will not be personalized since everyone in the whole show does the same finale.) It takes at least 1 week for the CDs to get recorded, so please order them as soon as possible if you are interested. See Kim and just let her know what classes you want recorded and she will make sure your disc is correct.

In observance of MLK day, the studio will be closed on Monday, January 15th.

If anyone has any questions, please do not hesitate to ask!

December Newsletter

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! So much, that Santa Claus will be making his annual trip to Mardon soon.

From December 11th to December 16th, we will not be having regular classes. Please note the special christmas schedule:

There are NO CLASSES on Monday, December 11th.

On Wednesday, December 13th, all of the hip-hop classes will report from 6:30 - 8:00 for a hip-hop dance off and Christmas party. We will see which class can bring it and then Santa will bring presents and candy canes to us!

On Thursday, December 14th, all of the Acrobatics, Ballet, Lyrical and Pointe classes will report to class from 6:30 - 8:00 to tumble in some Christmas fun. I'm sure Santa will once again tumble in too!

And finally, on Saturday, December 16th, all of the Saturday Tap & Jazz classes will report at 11:00 - 1:00 to dance and have some Christmas fun. I think we might even be able to talk Santa into stopping by 1 last time before he starts his last minute rush at the north pole.

Group photos will be taken of all of the classes with Santa each day and will be both displayed on the internet and in the waiting room for the rest of the year. However, we also offer individual pictures with Santa Claus as well for any interested students. The photos are $5.00 each and are taken with a digital camera and are printed during class to be taken home with you that day. Each comes in a card frame with an envelope. This is a great way to avoid the Christmas rush at the malls and the expense with Santa pictures.

You are welcome to bring anyone to see Santa including younger brothers and sisters. You can even take multiple pictures with Santa as grandma or grandpa's extra special gift. All we ask is that you please give Kim a count beforehand so that we have enough ink on hand. Once we run out, we will not be able to take any other pictures, but we will guarantee pictures for anyone that reserves them in advance.

Remember that all of the costume deposits are due now! Over the Christmas break, all of the costumes will be ordered. Your costumes will not be ordered unless a deposit of $30.00 is placed on each costume. The remaining balance is due by April 1st. Please check your invoice and do not hesitate to ask any questions concerning your totals.

All of the students will be measured for their costumes during the first week of December. If your child is absent, please make sure they get measured as soon as they return. We want all costumes to fit as close to perfect as we can get them.

Do not forget to make up any missed classes for the first half of the year. At our recital, we will give a perfect attendance trophy to anyone who has perfect attendance. So please, make them up now. No classes from the first half of the year can be made up after January, and no classes can be made up during the Christmas parties.

Want the perfect Christmas gift for your favorite dancer? We have the answer. Body suits & dancewear make great gifts! Check out our selection. Also, we are having a Christmas clearance on old Mardonwear. We will be selling former mardonwear t-shirts for $5.00. What a steal? Get them while they last.

Finally, we will resume classes on Wednesday, January 3, 2018! Have a "Tappy" Holiday and a "Hip-Hoppy" New Year!

See you in 2018!
